What is Yoga?
Yoga is a practice of connection — linking mind, body, and soul.
It weaves together practices such as Asana (physical postures), Pranayama (breath awareness), meditation, rest, and mindful presence. Yoga is much more than movement; it’s a way of coming home to yourself, both on and off the mat.
I’ve never done yoga before — can I attend?
Yes, you most certainly can 🤍
No previous yoga experience is necessary.
I offer clear explanations, demonstrations, and modifications throughout the class, along with optional variations so you can practise in a way that feels supportive for your body. We also use yoga props to help you explore postures (asana) safely and comfortably.
Classes are designed to be accessible and inclusive. However, if you have any health concerns, please consult your GP or healthcare professional before attending a class.
I kindly ask that you let me know before class if you have any injuries, medical conditions, or concerns, so I can offer appropriate options. Please note that in some cases, a group class environment may not be suitable, and a private session or working with a specially trained yoga professional may be a more supportive alternative.
Please also take a moment to read the full disclaimer before your class.
What style of yoga do you teach?
My classes are a gentle, nourishing blend of Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative, Yin, and Tantra-inspired yoga.
They focus on mindful movement, breath awareness, deep rest, subtle energy, and creating space to reconnect with yourself — both on and off the mat. Each class is offered with an emphasis on choice, presence, and listening inward.
What if I’m not flexible or fit enough?
Yoga is not about flexibility or fitness — it’s about connection.
Yoga is an inclusive practice, and through modifications, alternative postures, and the use of props, you’ll be guided to find your version of each pose. Yoga meets you exactly where you are.
I don’t feel confident with balance — is yoga still for me?
Yes 🌿
Balance can be supported in many ways. We may use walls, blocks, or alternative variations of a pose. You’re always welcome to skip a posture altogether and rest in a comfortable position.
With my classes, all practices are invitations, not expectations. You’re encouraged to listen to your body’s whispers and respond with kindness.
Will I be adjusted or touched during class?
Hands-on adjustments are not essential to the practice.
I primarily guide through verbal cues and demonstrations. If any physical adjustments are offered, your consent will always be asked for first.
How long before class should I eat?
It’s best to have a light meal or snack about 1–2 hours before your class.
This helps you feel comfortable and able to move freely during your practice.
What should I wear?
Please wear something comfortable with stretch.
You may like to wear layers, so you can remove them as your body warms during movement and add them back on as your body cools during rest and Savasana.
What should I bring?
· Your own yoga mat if you have one (I do have spare mats available if needed)
· A blanket for warmth and comfort (spares are also available)
· A drink that you can sip whenever you need
If you’re attending Yoga at Sutterton and require a mat, please let me know when booking — thank you.
If it’s my first class with you, is there anything I need to know?
Please try to arrive 5–10 minutes early to settle into the space.
If there are any updates about your health or wellbeing, you’re welcome to share them with me before class. You can also contact me beforehand if you have any questions or concerns.
Do I need to book, or can I just turn up?
I kindly ask that you book in advance, either online or by message/email.
This helps me prepare the space and ensures I bring enough mats and props for everyone attending.
What if I need to rest during class?
Rest is always welcome 🤍
You’re encouraged to pause, soften, or take rest in Savasana at any point during the class. Listening to your body is part of the practice.
What if I can no longer attend a class?
If you’re unable to attend, please let me know as soon as possible.
You can find full details in my cancellation policy, available via the link on my website.
Do you offer online classes?
Yes, I do offer online classes.
These are designed to be accessible for all levels. If you have any health concerns, please consult your GP or healthcare professional before participating, and ensure you’ve read the full disclaimer prior to the class.
How can I pay?
Payments can currently be made via:
· Online booking system (Stripe)
· Cash
· BACS transfer
Payment details will be shared when booking.
Is yoga suitable if I have an injury or a long-term condition?
Many people find yoga supportive, however it’s important to consult your healthcare professional before attending. Please let me know in advance so I can offer suitable options, or advise if a private session or alternative support may be more appropriate.
Can I bring my child with me?
At present, my classes are not open to under-16s.
In the future, I plan to further my training to offer classes for teens and pre-teens — watch this space.
Can I attend if I’m pregnant?
Yoga during pregnancy can offer many benefits 🤍
However, I’m not currently running pregnancy-specific yoga classes.
If you are new to yoga, you may find a dedicated pregnancy yoga class more supportive for your needs at this time.
